Singapore Science Centre, Clarke Quay, Esplanade & Suntec City
I foresee a very long post with about 50 out of almost 400 photographs I took today (or yesterday, since now it's already past midnight). You can view the others at Shutterfly (share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0IctGLlyxZMWEw) if you have nothing better to do than to look at pretty photographs. Today was absolutely fun with Weihui, though it probably would have been even more fun if Emily, Weiyi and Christel were present.
Early in the morning the whole family left the house together despite us all having different destinations. My parents dropped Emily first, and then dropped me at Tampines MRT Station to meet Weihui. Then Weihui and I took from one end of the Green Line to the other, which is so damn far and we didn't even get to sit throughout the whole journey. We wanted to have breakfast at the Science Centre or something but we were too hungry so we just had KFC at Jurong Entertainment Centre. Tried the Ultimate Chicken Meal for the first time, we thought we could er, share the meal or something since in the KFC advertisement it seemed like meal was super good in terms of quality and quantity. But when we opened the Ultimate Chicken Meal box the auntie gave us with all the food inside, we decided to get one each 'cause the burger is only a little larger than my fist, the popcorn chicken box is about the height of my forefinger, only the drumstick is acceptable (where to find small drumstick?). Not enough for me if I share with Weihui one! Advertisements are so deceptive.
After breakfast we went to the bus interchange and waited for Bus 335, and only after alighting that we realised we could have just walked from the interchange 'cause the Science Centre is only a five-minute walk away. And we spent so much time waiting for the bus? Heh, we looked at several exhibits and I can't be bothered to tell you everything, or even in sequence, so I'll just talk about some cool ones. And by the way, the entrance fee is only three dollars for each child, and a we're still considered as children till 16 years old, ha very worth-it.
What's the use of those twin-towerish things? They're quite useless.
I didn't get the name of this exhibit. But anyway when you point at one ball, all the reflections in the other balls seem to be pointing right back at you so it's cool B-)
Bird/Fish?
One piece of cake left/ One piece of cake eaten?
King/ Queen?
Happy/ Sad?
The Science Centre is full of these funny pictures for you to turn upside down so you can see another hidden image. There are still others but just to let you have an idea.Tri-zonal Space Warper, haha you look into the spinning disk for about 20 seconds and then look at someone else's face and then you'll see weird effects. I video-ed the spinning of the disk, go see my YouTube account if you want.
This machines takes a photo of you and then creates a mosaic out of it so the image is made up of smaller images. I can't really see any distinct features though. The machine shows the mosaic of the last person to use it outside so our picture was there for a while. One Minute of Fame!
His Excellency Mr S R Nathan, his actions are damn slow. Actually I sort of wanted to go to Science Centre to meet Mr. President 'cause I thought he'd move when you talk to him or something. This is not very interesting.
Hahaha this game is retarded, Atomic Breakout. There's this area for us to move about and we are positioned at the bottom to catch the falling goodies and bounce the ball back up in the game.
Population counter, the number in the top bar is the world's population. The bottom bar is Singapore's population.
Playhouse, the area beyond the glass is the ecogarden, which we didn't really explore 'cause it was so hot out there.
Whoever the man in the mirror is.
Whoever the man in the mirror is. It's just so amazing, I don't even know how it works. Weihui and I hardly read the explanations. And I'm even lazy to read the instructions on how to work the exhibits so I'll just anyhow press all the buttons.
We're supposed to get coloured shadows or something, aiya don't know how it works but this is a cool blurred photo.
Heh, I killed Weihui with a comb. No, it's not even a comb, it's a hair brush okay. To brush Weihui's mane. HEHEHE, WEIHUI I HAVE NO MORE WAVE BUT YOU STILL HAVE YOUR MANE! (joke from June)
Dancing Diva!
And this mirror is very consoling :) It makes us look like twigs. There were other mirrors which made us fat and all too but they're too ugly so I shall not post them here. And I choose to believe that the mirrors in the lifts make us look fatter because Mummy said we look fat in the photo we took through the super cool mirror in the lift.
AstroEmelia! Stupid, Astroboy's too skinny to cover the whole of my body.
Astro Weihui!
HAHAHA, we tried out the machine which will predict your face when you are are a baby, child, teenager, adult and aged. The quality machine is damn lousy, everything's so unclear, but that does look a little like Weihui when she was young.
I see not much of a difference betweeen this (child) and her current face.
Wrinkles!!!
Weihui probably would look like a thousand year-old tree with fungus on her face.
This is totally not me when I was a baby. I didn't look like Chicken Little or a pig, or a mix between the two.
Why do I look like I already have wrinkles when I'm a child.
I can't see the difference but this looks more matured.
I look like Orang Utan/ Chimpanzee/ Gorilla/ King Kong. And my hair makes me look like I'm going to be a rag-and-bone auntie when I become old.
We entered the Curiosity shop selling souvenirs and stuff. Didn't get anything 'cause they're waste of money. One eyeball costs $2.50.
Thus, this is a gentle reminder please take good care of your eyes.
On the way out we got approached by a lady who wanted us to help her complete a survey on SSC, so we spent about 10 minutes of our youth being questioned by her and we got 6 bookmarks in return! Very educational but I'd rather they give me some vouchers or something. (Anyway, we said that we loved the Mirror Maze but they took it away, we want it back!!!)
Went to McDonald's for a seat because our legs were really exhausted and it was around 2 and the Science Show was starting at 3 but we can't walk anymore. At first we sat at this table with comfy seats but then the floor underneath was really disgusting with unknown liquid and the table wasn't cleaned so we decided to change place. And then I just stood up and went off, not knowing that I actually left my handphone lying forlornly on the seat. Luckily Weihui saw it. If not, there goes my handphone. I can't believe that I nearly lost it, I am a very careful person!! I haven't even lost a wallet in my life. I must be too tired from all the walking. Thank you Weihui anyway, love you :)Weihui's boyfriend.
Anyway the McDonalds at SSC sucked big time alright, the floor had unknown liquid, fries and all the crap. They probably had as many houseflies as the number of customers eating there. So irritating okay! And Weihui let the sleeve of my sweater touch the floor, pui!! I was really uncomfortable sitting in the McDonald's man. We went back into the Science Centre 'cause we wanted to watch the Science Show at the auditorium at 3. The Super Cool Show (what they call it) was total shit and it was for kiddies la. They didn't speak good English and their jokes are so dumb. They just kept using the same trick of freezing random objects in whatever that solution is called.
After that we walked back to Jurong East MRT and went to Clarke Quay, another long long journey but never mind since it's with Weihui :) Um, our reason for Clarke Quay was to look for a chocolate shop called Chocolate Factory. Weihui says that they have good chocolates. So we walked a big round around Clarke Quay to look for it. Clarke Quay is really pretty. We stopped at the G-MAX to look at three people get flung into air, awww I thought of Atiqa, Elyssa and Penelope :) I swear those three people didn't shout as loud as Atiqa and Penelope!
The sky was really gloomy and it shows a great contrast with the colourful shophouses! I love this picture, Mummy says that it looks like a postcard!
This is also very nice :)
Cool stuff from toilet at Clarke Quay.
Then we decided to go to the art museum, whatever it's name is, the one with lots of pretty colourful windows. (Oh my god I didn't take pictures of the windows????) And then we went to Funan the IT mall to find the chocolate shop but obviously we still couldn't, so we rewarded ourselves with Hot Dog Rolls from Polar for our effort in the Search of the Chocolate Factory. We decided to walk to Suntec City, but on the way I spotted the Esplanade and I wanted to go there 'cause I got reminded of the time last year around November when Weihui and I went there to eat Chocolate-coated strawberries from Chocz, walk across the bridge and look at the Merlion :) Awww.
On the way walking to the Esplanade we saw pretty buildings so I took pictures of them :)Church or something?
The Supreme Court.
Raffles Hotel.
Our Glorious Dead. They Died That We Might Live :( But I don't know who we're supposed to be reminded of?
We reached Esplanade and looked at some cool wire thingo exhibition there and we sat down for a while 'cause our legs were ripping off. Wanted to get something to eat from Mrs. Fields but we decided that we should bakes cookies ourselves instead of buying them. So we are probably baking in time for Christmas next Saturday and Sunday. (Emily, Weiyi, Christel please be free)Chocolate-coated strawberries from Chocz!
The Esplanade. Quite an ugly shot but I just want to show that I was there -.-
Weihui back in 2005, at Esplanade :)
We walked to Suntec City to meet Mummy after work for dinner. We reached first so we sat down at the Koi Pond area to rest, there were so many people sitting on the benches sleeping, so unglam. What a caring boyfriend Weihui has? He followed her to Suntec City!
We met Mummy for dinner at the food court and then we went to Carrefour to shop for groceries. Hahaha, we walked past the shelves with all the soft toy bears. They are cute! Hahaha so I asked Weihui how many she can carry. 4 bears...
5 bears...
6 bears! That's the most la, 'cause after this photo the bears started falling off Weihui, hahaha. And then a man who walked past laughed at her, like quite loud 'cause I heard it -.-
Jean Perry, so comfortable you smile in your sleep.
We walked past this whole lot of Vitasoy with little blue presents stuck onto them as Christmas decorations. Weihui accidentally knocked one of them off and then I asked her to purposely take more off.
For a Christmas belt!
I tell you Weihui was damn retarded yesterday, she suddenly kept calling me Mumma and then I was so irritated I tried to hit her ass with the trolley but it scratched the back of her feet, oops! And then she let our a shriek and everyone looked at her. Then that stupid woman went, 'Mumma, I hate you!'. Hahaha, and then she ran away. Everyone must have sympathised me to have a mentally disabled daughter. Weihui kept acting retarded to make me lose face -.- We pasted those little boxes on the stuff we took, and then when we paid at the counter. One of the boxes we pasted on the Lurpak butter coincidentally covered the barcode so the cashier couldn't scan it. So he took out the box, scanned the code, and pasted it back!!! o.O Hahaha. Mummy asked us to return to them 'cause we're like stealing their decorations -.-
Best cousins!
Then Daddy came to fetch us and we accompanied him to dinner since he hadn't had his. The fruit lady gave us bad pineapples and we asked for a change and she not happy, heh. After that fetched Weihui home and went home. Penelope read Chinese to me on MSN it was quite bad but under my guidance she improved! :)
I want to make this Christmas a Christmas so I need to get presents, wrap them up personally, sing Christmas carols, go Snow City, and bake! I'll do them next week, 'cause there wouldn't be much time before Christmas.
